Message from Desma

Hello, my name is Desma ..... I initially became interested in tiny treasures as a child, and the magic of the wonderland of tiny treasures has really never left me.

Over many years when living in the Mornington Peninsula I enjoyed visiting a miniature wonderland in Mornington called House of Miniatures.  Yes you guessed it as soon as this business became available to purchase I jumped at the chance to turn my fascination for all things small into more than a hobby!!!  

I enjoy the challenge and creativity of ensuring it's a place where one can discover the enjoyment of collecting and making miniatures.  I find many items are carefully hand made, uniquely decorated and hand painted.  The care and quality of this handiwork is fantastic.  Wherever possible I stock Australian made.  There's usually something for everyone -- from our very youngest client through to the most seasoned miniature enthusiast, and of course to cover all budgets.  There's lots of items for gift giving, be it birthdays, anniversaries or special occasions.

Realizing the popularity of people wanting to make their own miniatures and accessories we have over time incorporated additional DIY products.  We now hold regular craft classes, DIY Information Sessions.

I together with my husband Peter opened a second business in eastern Victoria.  This new business venture is the NATIONAL DOLLHOUSE GALLERY.  We chose Swan Reach for this new business location and it's situated on the Princes Hwy between Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance.  As well as a haven for miniaturists it is becoming a significant tourism attraction in the area.  I have dedicated this website to the NATIONAL DOLLHOUSE GALLERY.  I invite you to browse through the following pages of our website and the Online Shop.

We've included some tourist information for the Swan Reach area (known as Twin Rivers and East Gippsland) which we know you will enjoy.
